About Me

Hello!!
My name is Shanti and my name means "Peace", just as one would say "Shalom". I embrace  change and transitions  bringing in the new, and love engaging with people where they are. I enjoy  creating  new designs and methods in art, pattern writing and sewing  as much as I love to create new interventions in the area of living well and  spiritual growth. I love to soak into every moment and akin a Minuet, a gentle dance between two,  my entire being is in its  own  rhythmic dance with strings of every fiber possible  around me. I love yarn  both natural and man made,  crocheting, macrame, needlepoint and loom weaving, Love the flow of strings of clay through my fingers,  jewelry design   and sculpture.   I create my own  strings of fabric, besides   hand and machine quilting.
My earliest art experience was at age 2 1/2 when my cook gave me a large snake to play with and make something out of!! Well it was huge to me then for my baby hands, it was nothing but the baby soft dough of the Indian flat bread.  My work integrates the ancient and modern, weaves the  eastern and western together, spiced with stories of   culture and traditions around the world.  I have the joy of  having traveled widely, interacting with people, and with every piece there is something so beautiful. Come and journey along with me. Besides I pastor and preach and have served as a chaplain and my passion is palliative care. I love to teach music and piano having graduated from Trinity College of Music London Pianoforte, and find rhythm and harmony in everything.
Thank you for visiting my blog and God Bless you.
Lots of love
Shanti.
